Glassforms Supply Chain

I recently joined Glassforms as a Supply Chain Manager and I am very pleased and proud to be a part of this company. I worked in multiple industries including Textiles, Electrical, Chemical and FMCG with key attention to Supply Chain in both Made to Stock (MTS) and Made to Order (MTO) businesses. Glassforms follows primarily Made to Order (MTO) business model meaning raw material, production and logistics planning initiate with the confirmation of customer order. As a Supply Chain Manager, the aim is to develop a smooth product and information flow through our supply chain network in the most cost effective way without compromising customer expectation.

 

Supply chain management (SCM) is the management tool to maximize customer value and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage. It encompasses whole set of activities starting from sourcing raw material to production management, inventory management, storage and warehousing management, order management until delivery to the final customer. There are quite obvious benefits of SCM include improved efficiencies, higher profits, lower costs, increased collaboration and hence better risk management.

 

As Glassforms is solely Made-to-Order business where Customer pulls order as per their requirements and we are establishing the same lean supply from our supplier. This concept of lean applies to the whole supply chain network including material supply, production plans and delivery to the customer by removing waste or non-value added tasks at each level.
